Barbara's studio in beautiful Nakusp, BC is a shared creative space. Aside from her own multi-media work, the studio houses art classes and gallery exhibitions for both teacher and students.
ART CLASSES - to resume in the fall 2011
Art classes offered are small for individual attention - maximum 6 students. Supply kits for each class are available for purchase the first day of class, so students have no need to run around looking for the right supplies.

I Have This Idea! - a Mentoring Class
For students with some artistic experience who want to explore their own idea or media through the entire six sessions. Instruction will focus on media usage, the colour wheel, repetition, approach, critiques, completion and presentation.
Exploring Chalk Pastels
Push the limits of expression with coloured chalk pastel. Play with blending, cross-hatching, layering, and expressive non-local colour. Previous drawing experience required. Supply kit available for purchase at first class.
Painting with Acrylics - Levels 1 and 2 (a combined class)

An exploration of drawing with 10 different dry and wet media. The emphasis of the class in on experimentation with the traits of different media and grounds to help students expand knowledge and experience in selecting the appropriate media for their style and projects.
